Brunch used to be saved for Mother’s Day, but culture has made brunch a priority for any given weekend.
Your vacation or work trip to Austin is no different.
If you’re waking up in the Texas capital and on the hunt for the best Southern brunch this city has to offer, we have a delicious guide for the top nine spots to visit. Don’t leave Austin without a stop at one of these restaurants famous for their brunch foods.
1. Holy Roller
Holy Roller breaks with convention in regards to what time eating brunch is acceptable — you can enjoy dishes like honey-buttered biscuits with eggs, yellow cake pancakes, and shrimp and grits all day. The scene here is punk rock with a touch of elegant ambiance.
Their cozy, fun dining room is open seven days a week, with happy hour from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (and all day Tuesday). The brunch menu includes West Texas mac ‘n’ cheese, steak and eggs, and brisket fries. Holy Roller’s claim to fame is their buttery biscuits, so make sure you order some to share.
If you still have room for dessert, they have their own version of a Choco Taco, warm gooey cookies, and banana pudding.
Holy Roller’s bar includes a large selection of craft cocktails, beer, wine, and bubbly.
